Vespula Vulgaris

Hey, Georgia Fans! The common wasp or yellow jacket(Vespula Vulgaris) is a pest with a range of nearly the entire Northern Hemisphere. The fact that the center of their “vulgar” universe is Atlanta, Georgia is not lost on you Georgia Bulldog fans. For years the rest of the hemisphere knew very little of the problem, but now that the bees are swarming and ranked 7th in the BCS, the Orkin man is more popular than a Zeta on a …, well nevermind.
The nation is just now learning what the Dawg Nation has known for years. The “common” wasp is nothing more than the occasional pain in the ass. Mostly at picnics and other gatherings in the summer. You can find them congregating around trash cans, so keep an eye out.
Seldom does this annoyance linger into the fall. Last year was just such a prolonged nightmare. This year may be a problem as well, although anything is possible. Be patient, this too shall pass and they will fly back to their hole in the ground soon enough. Then all will be right with the world once again.

Historic Grant Field…

Bottom Line…..Tech chose an irritating pest to be its mascot and their fans have acted accordingly. Hope the Dawgs FINALLY have a game where they don’t turn the ball over and have stupid penalties so this buzzing nonsense will cease. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!

I think I am about to throw up. The insects are at a fever pitch. Dawgs will squash them this Saturday. Btw, does anyone remember the Freshman games that used to take place on Thanksgiving day between UGA and GATECH? I miss the old days when we would see the freshman play so that “strong legs may run so weak legs may walk.” Great cause and it was a simpler time. Do You remember?
P.S. don’t forget the real “Pink Pig” and the lighting of the tree at Rich’s downtown. All on Thanksgiving.
Enjoy!

Those freshman games were great, I remember them well. and miss them. Always looked forward to those, oh well times are a changing, probably not for the best.We will need lots of luck to win this one. I’m sitting at home, have a few beers, snacks, the usual, and get ready for all our personal fouls, I know we will commit a lot of them in this game, cause were comin in here frustrated and down. If Cox gets rattled , it’s all over, just like the Kentucky game, maybe the Cats can send us some luck and good wishes.A miracle is in order for this game!

Endeavor to persevere.
One day in an elementary school in Atlanta , a teacher asks her class if Georgia Tech is their favorite football team. The whole class says yes, except for Little Jimmy.
The teacher asks, “What’s your favorite football team Jimmy?”
Little Jimmy says, “The Georgia Bulldogs ”
The teacher asks, “Well, why is that?”
Little Jimmy says, “Well, my dad is a Bulldog fan, my mom is a Bulldog fan, I guess that makes me a Bulldog fan.”
The teacher angered by his reply says, “If your dad was a moron and your mom was an idiot what would that make you?”
Little Jimmy says, “Well, I guess that would make me a Georgia Tech fan.”

I think we are going to have to score a LOT of points to win this one. Wonder what the over/under is on this game?

The picture you used really creeped me out. We had better squash the damn bees this year.

Don’t worry, they are easily squashed most of the time.
