Tim Tebow Impresses at Combine

The NFL Combine has a couple of days left but Sunday was a huge day for us all because Tim Tebow participated. He had a very good vertical at 38″ and broad jump of 9′ 7″.  His shuttle time was downright demonic at an unofficial 6.66, and that can’t be good.

Then he proceeded to run his two forties. The first was a 4.70 and his second was a tad slower at 4.72. At this point his only option is to over-haul his throwing motion as has been reported, because his running days are officially over. Check out this guy’s article. He called 4.72 “blistering”. Toby Gerhart running 4.53 at about the same size as Tebow, that’s blistering.

He is looking at the proposition of playing against NFL defenses where 7 to 8 players on the other side of the ball are faster than him. He always had a knack for avoiding most major collisions in college. Now he will be a sitting duck if he does not learn to get the ball out quicker. It could get ugly. Anyone heard of the new Wildsplat offense?

Oh, this just in. His interviews went really well. So he has that going for him.

  1. Tim has mind set that will enable him to succeed. That’s he’s always beaten the odds. He knows that it’s merely a game and not real life. Get over it all you wannabe coaches.

I think since Te-boo hoo has lineman speed, they should draft him as a lineman. After he gets all banged up in his first NFL game, I hope his coach forbids him from boo hooing to the media, from being so sore after the game, and he just could,t win it for the gipper. Hope the Vikings don’t take him, as I have to find another NFL team.

I know there are a lot of current and future defensive ends and backs who want Timmy T to become an NFL QB, so that when he drops the ball to his waist right before he throws it, they can use that as a kind of “hand off” to them, where they can take it the other way.

He’s a good guy, a good role model for the youngsters but he is not an NFL QB. I wish him the very best (which is difficult to type coming from this Old Dawg) but he is most suited to be an “H” back, a tight end. Or someone is going to pay him a lot of money to play as he did his 1st year with Flori-duh; as a battering ram when they need 2 yards.

In any event, good luck, Timmy T!! Thanks for graduating!

He is a jok always has and always will be. The NFL does not have many mis-matches as he saw in college ball. Let Davis introduce himself to T-Bow

On a more serious note, Tebow isn’t throwing at the Combine ostensibly because he’s “fixing” his technique. In this article, http://www.nfl.com/combine/story?id=09000d5d816a76be&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true he defends Coach Meyer for not tinkering with a faulty arm motion…one that may keep his draft stock low. My question is, if QB coach Dan Mullen was unable to get Tebow to stick to the correct technique in game situations back then, what’s to say he’s going to be able to do it now? Any athlete knows that certain skills rely on muscle memory; it’s a matter of repetitions. So why couldn’t Tebow have done this in the off-season at UF? Why would a pro team believe that he’s going to be able to make the change now?

Good interviews? Well let’s sign him up for Miss America then…they still have the interview category, right? ;)
