You would be a little prejudiced being a "dawg fan", as I am one too, but let me assure you he is not the ONLY ONE AS YOU PUT IT. The winningest top ten teams over the last nine years in order are :1. Boise State (102-24): .809 astounding record, 2. Texas (103-25):.805, 3rd. Oklahoma (102-28): .785, 4th. Ohio State (98-27);.784, 5th. Virginia Tech (99-29);.773, 6TH GEORGIA (99-30); .767. 7th. Miami (95-30);.760, 8th and 9th tied Michigan and Southern Cal (92-32); .744 and 10th Tennessee (replaced Florida's spot) (93-34) .732 . So you can see Richt is in great company, proudly so, but not alone by any means, there is great tradition at all these schools, and what might surprise many is that FLORIDA, L.S.U., AND ALABAMA HAVE NOT BEEN AMONG THE BEST WINNINGEST PROGRAMS, THE LAST NINE YEARS, EVEN THOUGH SEVERAL WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

You're right Ally . I'm sure Deon Rogers was a 4 star recruit with offers from Florida and Ohio state because all those folks were sucking up to Luc. What a hoot.

So, to clarify: your assertion is that Da'Rick is worth two scholarships, his and one for his buddy Nance who, according to you, will likely never play a down in competition. Furthermore, from the AJC article about Nance and Rogers that is imbeded here, I get the impression that Rogers may have his share of struggles off the field. Nope, I think we're better off without him. Give that scholarship to a solid, reliable longsnapper and be done with it!

Can anyone tell me how many teams in the country have been in the top 10 in rankings as many times as Richt the last 9 years? I do believe that would be zero. So as long as this is an outlier and not a pattern then I can live with it. Not to mention looking at our schedule, who we have back on offense and our new defensive staff I expect 10-12 wins (including seccg and bowl) this season and the recruiting will get right back to where it was before.

It is good to hear some positive or at least not negative response to the Way Mark Richt has gone about things since the end of the season. If he had hired anyone without the offer to Smart then he would have been mud in the AJC and other blogs. The offer to Smart was difficult due the the ALA season still in play. When you make long term decisions you need to get it right not quick. In the end the media would not excuse a poor choice because it was a quick hire. The blog nuts need to get a grip, which of the coaches with a better ten year record are going to send money to hire:)

Gimme a break. The only reason we offered Deon Rogers (who thankfully bolted for Louisville in the end) was to get Jeff Luc. Everybody offers two-for-one deals, including Richt. And it's not a knock on integrity, it's just smart recruiting.

Of the top 26 5-star recruits, only one chose a Big Ten school. As you just proved, there's a reason for that.

You neglected to mention that Blake Sims was our first choice & had Bobo & Richt not dropped the ball (& yeah they most certainly did with a number of offensive recruits this season-see David Hale & Dean Legge) he would've committed to UGA rather than Bama.

As for Nance: He'll never see the field at UT past a spring game. Hell i wouldn't bet a dollar he would've played at Vandy (his original commit). He just isn't good enough. However, recruiting isn't a business for the sweet & nice, especially when you're competing against the likes of Nick Saban & Urban Meyer, amongst others. Derek Dooley outsmarted Richt, that's a fact. He offered a two-for-one (which we have done also previously) and it worked. Pollack's right, we blew it w/ Da'Rick like we blew it with most of the top offensive recruits in this class.

That better get resolved quickly unless 8-5 is to be the new "Richt Way"

I read an email this morning that Jim Tressel's OLDER brother had sent to a Seantrel Henderson. It was pathetic. He was talking about how much he loved the rappers performing at the Grammy's. Seriously.
