Red and Black Tuesday

I said it’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog! While the weather outside is indeed frightful, I feel warm and fuzzy inside because the history books will show January 5th, 2010 as (Red and) Black Tuesday.(Thanks AD). While my primary focus was on the Orange Bowl and Iowa beating Georgia Tech, the Hoop Dawgs were providing the appetizer by upsetting the 20th ranked B-Ball Bees, 73-66.
Once I was able to give the football game my complete attention, it was like a trip to Fogo de Chao. So much great stuff, you don’t know where to start. All you can eat, for one not so low price, but oh so worth it.
On offense, Iowa “pounded the rock” ala the Georgia Bulldogs and kept Tech’s offense off the field in the first half especially. Hawkeye QB Ricky Stanzi had a very solid game for someone that was coming off ankle surgery and had not played in a couple of months.

Amen on the Fogo de Chao reference, Rex!! Love to keep the filet and the lamb chop gauchos busy!!
Tech needed the red side of the card for both the UGA game and the Orange Bowl beating they took by more phyical teams.
CPJ must have thrown the card down somewhere on the field with the green side up because the whoopin’ just kept coming, and coming, and coming.
But I guess that game, along with the UGA game didn’t really mean anything, afterall. I’ll bet the ring merchant is getting tired of them cancelling their orders for game rings. Chick-fil-a rings – Cancelled. 2009 UGA game rings – Cancelled. 2010 Orange Bowl rings – Cancelled.

…pounded the rock indeed! My wife turned to me fairly early on and said that the Hawkeyes were taking a page from our playbook. I’m glad Bobo was in the sharing mood over the Holidays.
And I could not be prouder of Coach Fox’s team. It was one thing to beat the nerds, it was so much more fulfilling to expose them as a group of diaper dandies that can not complement each other while we passed, assisted and flushed their hopes of breaking the Stegeman Streak.
When I awoke this morning my cheeks hurt from smiling all night.

Frozen Palm Trees sway
As Hawkeyes grind meat and bone

I promised that in 2010 I’d be more gracious, especially in victory, which means I cannot gloat. In that spirit, however, I can tell you how FANTASTIC I think this post is!

That’s a great resolution and I think you have expressed yourself beautifully!
