Prep News Report

I want to thank Ron Tarpley, the owner of Prep News Report for helping me make the transition from Dawg-Leg Write to Roughing the Kicker and from WordPress.com to WordPress.org . I can only say, that I would not have been able to do it without Ron’s help. We have spent untold hours on the phone, emailing, chatting on gmail, trying to get it right.
It will continue to be a work in progress, but I am happy with what we have accomplished in one weeks time. If you like the new look of the blog, it was Ron’s idea. If you hate it, go to his site and tell him so. No seriously, go to his site when you can, he is attempting to focus on what is right with high school sports, instead of focusing on the negative all the time.
Ron and I have never met face to face, we met on www.linkedin.com a couple of months ago and established a friendship based on a mutual love of high school sports.
Thanks again Ron.

Ronnie is a bulldog from way back. He did a pretty good Herchel Walker over the top…and onto the bed back in 7th grade. Ronnie is a great friend to many and will be a success I’m sure with his new endeavor. I can’t wait to visit roughing the kicker. I love bulldog stories. Rex, good luck with everything and tell Ronnie….that I got him last.

Doo,
Your Dad drove me to my first Bulldog game ever! Thanks to Papa Doo, I had the opportunity to see Herschel Walker play.

Thank you, Rex. I am glad to have a small part in getting your stories out. As a proud alumni and life long fan, I enjoy hearing former players opinions on issues both past and current. Your writing reflects your honesty and loyalty to The University of Georgia.
Georgia has a long tradition of great kickers and I, along with many others, think Rex is arguably the best we ever had. 1980 would certainly not have been possible without him.
I hope the folks out there will continue to subscribe to your blog and encourage you to keep the great content coming!

Yeah…I guess Ron’s an alright fella….
Seriously, Ron is a good guy and a great friend to many! If he called and needed my help, any time, any where I’d be there as fast as humanly possible. He and I go way back. His site is definitely a more positive and comprehensive way to look at high school sports. I really enjoy reading it.
I wish you both the very best in your endeavors.

Rex,
Without going into great detail, suffice it to say that MoDawg delivered the single greatest play in Junior High Football. Ever. Period.
Mo was…lets see how to put it nicely….a big boned strong kid. More nice that tuff, but you wouldn’t want to be the guy that pissed him off. Anyway, God didn’t build Mo’s body for speed but designed him more to steam roll and plug things up. But as fate would have it, he could FLY!
No 7th grade team in Warner Robins history had ever beaten Perry at their home field. Lets just say they were more mature than us in the 7th grade. Anyway, they physically killed us but we managed to stay close. Then, Big MoDawg scooped up a fumble and rambled at least 85 yards for a touchdown! He OUTRAN every defender on the field including the QB and Wide receiver and his efforts resulted in history for our squad.
