George Rogers is not Happy!
I called George Rogers today for my annual bit of fun. For the record, I am not a true trash talker. However, I do have a good enough relationship with George that I can poke a little fun and predict a Georgia victory. I have talked before about how George and I met on the recruiting trail. I see him now about once a year and talk a couple of more times when possible.
I called him this morning and said Georgia was going to spank that behind tomorrow night…I can’t print George’s response, although he was laughing as he said it. The only thing that we did agree on is that it’s usually close.
Heck the two games we(UGA) won during my four years versus South Carolina were -15-13 in 1977 and 13-10 in 1980. Yep, two field goals in each game were the difference.

Ah, he was a damn good one, even if he was on the other side of the ball.
I like how the AFC is doing the 50th anniversary of the AFL with throwback uniforms and whatnot; but, it doesn’t matter until they bring back those awesome, massive neck pads George is wearing in that picture. Back in the day, if you were wearing one of those, it meant business time. Obviously not the thing for kickers, I know, but how good it was back then!
We’re less than 24 hours away. . .

Rogers was a heckuva player, of course, I remember he played at Duluth. He ate Georgia’s lunch for 3 or 4 years, I remember Dooley dreading having to play him. Only Herschel overshadowed him and he was a senior by then.
Those were great games, Rex, two among many. I try to tell people that this South Carolina thing has been going on a long time.

You went into Spam again. I think we’ll win in a high scoring affair. Special Teams will be huge for us and Blair will kick a couple of touchbacks. lol
