Well, I don’t think Coach Fab is a numbskull, but I do think he is being stubborn and a little short-sighted about the kickers “hiding” the weaknesses of our coverage team. Those guys need to all get better…kickers and cover guys alike.

Rex, a late read but I am another voice that supports your view about the lame (pardon the pun) kicking strategy of Coach Fas. This dude is a numb skull; I suggest that his kicking philosophy contributed to losses for our team. When will Coach R get his act together and leash this doobie up? If CR allows this directional kicking again this year he should be shown the door. NO other teams have this strategy and win games.

We can count on 2-3 losses if they do not change this supposed tactic.

What has Coach Fas got on CR?

Brandon’s highlight film almost made me drool. So many times the ball landed beyond the endzone, at times 10-15 yards behind the endzone…not in the endzone, behind it.

As far as I know, the guy in the 7th row, seat 12, section 141 in the West endzone has run out of eligibility…

Rex, I know you are blue in the face so to speak of talking so much about our kicking philosophy. But I say, keep preaching it brother! You and Kevin Butler feel the same way. Kevin has been harping on it for the last couple of years on the 5th Quarter Radio show after the games. Why our coaches won’t listen to ones who ARE the experts boggles my mind!!! Maybe it will sink in one day. We have GOT to stop kicking off to the 10-15 yard line and giving our opponents starting position way over the 30, time and time again. GATA!

Nothing in games. I became aware of some less than positive working relationships between competing kickers. I don’t want to name names because I’m not here to embarrass anybody. I’m just glad these two guys seem to have gotten off to a good start. They are both competitors, but want to keep things on a good level and let their performances speak for themselves.

Good stuff.

I was rewatching the LSU game from last year the other night, and Stafford took us the length of the field to score on a great drive, a thing of beauty, that consumed a lot of time and established great momentum.

We kick off to the right side, a high kick with good hang time that Trindon Holiday fields at the 15, right on the sideline. We cover it pretty well, but Holiday dives through crease and LSU sets up shop on their 38. Two quick first downs, LSU has regained the momentum, and they drive it in for a pretty quick score.

It took about 4 years, but my being is now saturated with these scenarios, almost all of them set up by the kickoff. It’s now driving me to Nutsville.

Whatever it takes, I just want them to fix it.

I was already impressed w/ the kid after watching highlight videos & reading interviews, but learning that he’s done his homework a/b Dawg history & sought you out just confirms his DGD status. I’m excited to see how his game transfers to the big stage for SEC games. Great post Rex, thanks for sharing!
