Black Dawg Down

Alpha Company, Alpha Company…we have men down! Too many casualties to count! You may not recognize our guys because they are not in UGA issue. For some reason, they are in black helmets and black pants. Something about juice?
Folks, it’s far worse than any of us imagined. If you need “juice” to get ready for Florida, you are a loser and have already lost . We have misplaced whatever degree of substance we ever had. It’s all about the fluff, and fluff don’t get it.
I almost titled this post, “So you think you can dance”?

Don’t think for a second that the Urban Crier did not use the 2007 celebration as continued motivation. They must have been insulted more by our dancing than we were by their time outs last year.

And why was this necessary? Just play football…
I know many of you relished in the original black-out game against Auburn and the accompanying soulja boi dance during the time outs..hell…even Verne and Gary joined the party. I liked the jerseys(past tense), but not the dancing. That was rubbing their nose in it. Well those chickens are all coming home to roost. Do you not think Auburn will be playing those replays in a few weeks? Please.
What used to be a meat and potatoes program has regressed in to a cake and icing program and I’m sick at my stomach. Georgia doesn’t need new jerseys, the red ones are fine. Georgia doesn’t need new pants, the silver britches are fine. Georgia doesn’t need new helmets, the red ones are fine. By the way, one of the most recognized and best looking helmets in all of college football. Thank you very much.
What Georgia does need is players that are motivated from within. That is something you can build on and have a sustained effort with. Motivation imposed from outside is superficial and temporary. Apparently Mark Richt doesn’t think they are sufficiently motivated, without the fluff. Why else would he do it?
Additional “juice” for the Florida game…my ass.

I appreciate that the uniform issue is metaphorical. But had we won, maybe a few people would have bitched. Forget the metaphor, focus on the man that created it. You will find him wanting in the cold light of day.

Please tell me. Why do most posters want to fire everybody but Mark Richt? He’s the CEO of the DAWGS and the CEO fails to provide the kind of leadership that will make this team into a fighting unit. What is the rationale for retaining him.
Off with his head. Good luck Mark. Thanks for the duo of SEC Championships. They won’t be forgotten but you will if your successor(s) perform like men not children.
I’ve had enough. I’ve been a fanatic Georgia lover for 70 years. Been involved as a recruiter when that was legal so this is not just talk. I don’t like to see anyone fired and that goes for the present crowd. But they all need to be fired. They’re not performing!!!!!!! What else is left but to fire them? Do we want the program’s problem to worsen even more with the same tired, apathetic, unimaginative, limited capabilities crew running our program straight into the ground.
The crowds will retain their tickets in hopes that someone will right the ship. But it will not be the same as when we were winning. There will be a lot of no shows come Saturday.
I’ve heard and read where people say that the Georgia team is stupid. I got to think that just as in business people hire people like themselves. Recruiters recruit that same way. Doesn’t that answer it? The coaches are stupid too, some more so than others.
Not knowing Mark Richt at all, I got to think he is stupid. It hurts me to say that. Just one example should suffice: Directional kicks. We have a guy who gets it in the end zone. Walsh did it Saturday. But Richt allowed directional kicks to continue though they were disastrous and he even defended them.
What’s with this guy? He defended something that wasn’t working. We all could see it even if we knew nothing about Xs and Os. What is this man doing? What is he smoking? Why didn’t he tell Fabris “no, no, no. Kick it in the end zone?” He’s lost a grip.
Exit and exit quickly Mark. Your mental health is at stake because something is dreadfully wrong on Ag Hill in Athens under your “leadership.” Are you sick? Are there family problems? What is it? I wish you well to be sure but you are harming the great name of Georgia football. We’ve regressed to the Johnny Griffith era, 1961-63. We’re a nobody in the SEC. A third tier team. You can’t handle it brother. Bow out gracefully before more harm is done, but bow out.

I got sick to my stomach when I came out of the tunnel and saw the gimmick uniforms. But I quickly realized the genius of it. When we see the endless reels of Florida’s championship season highlights, it’ll just look like they beat South Carolina twice. We took our beating in disguise.
They didn’t look like a Georgia team; I’m glad they didn’t dress up like one for Halloween. Get well soon, Dawgs!

Rex….right on target. I had enough concern going into this game but it really deflated me when came out in those abominations. What the &$%% was Richt thinking? This was one of those games you come sneaking into hoping preparation and few changes in offensive/defensive schemes catch them off guard. Coming out dressed like Halloween props just succeeded in getting their attention. I have a plan…put all the costumes in cold storage and come out and play like you deserve to wear those classic Georgia Bulldog uniforms. I like Mark Richt but one more resort to this type of nonsense and I’ll join the chorus of its time to part. I’m really, really sorry to have to say that but its true.

Vandy did score 14 against GT by kick off return so hopefully Brandon Boykin will be able to put some big points on the board.

AMEN Rex…. you hit the nail on the head.
Nuff’ said….

Ok. This has gone far enough. Richt is making us a bigger joke everyday. This staff has committed too many transgressions for fans to sit around and talk about how Richt brought us 2 SEC championships. Everybody is talking about the jerseys and Martinez today but thats because they are the easiest targets. Focus needs to be placed on the other sore spots also.
1) Richt’s awful decision making. I will try to name a few!!
A) Not firing Martinez
B) Tereshinski / Cox
C) Dwyer / C. King
D) Bush league gimmicks
E) Ignoring even chastising the fanbase for pointing out the GLARINGLY obvious
F) Lack of accountability on every level
G) Keeping his staff void of new ideas and fresh blood for 10 years
H) Not changing or adapting an offense or defense for a decade
I)Blind loyalty to poorly qualified assistants and upperclassmen
J) Directional kicking
K) Mind boggling stubborness!
L) MIND BOGGLING STUBBORNESS!!!
M) MIND BOGGLING STUPIDITY!!!!!!
Apparently they will only field questions from folks who have, “Been in the arena.” So Rex as someone who has, please, please, please call attention to this before it is too late. When this really bleeds us on the recruiting trail we have some serious issues that someone might not be able to turn around.

I am glad to finally see someone close to the program speak the truth. I know you have before. That is more than you can say for the post game radio crew, or a certain former UGA QB on radio every day. When will the external pressure from people that count start to rain down. The program is sicking to watch. Other teams may have moved to spread systems and exotic defenses, but they still play fundamentally sound assignment football. This team is neither mentally or physically tough. It is the joke of the SEC. Hell all the other team has to do is hit them in the mouth and talk trash and the GA players will loss there minds. How stupid is dance on the sidelines? It is bush league BS. All I every played was high school football but even then we would have run for the rest of our lives for crap like UGA players pull every week.

Wasn’t it Richt that changed the uniforms back to traditional from what Donnan had “upgraded”?
UGA has become the Oregon (in uniform gimmicks, only) of the SEC.
With UGA’s talent pool, they should not need gimmicks. What they need are changes within the program to add the spark that’s missing.
Unfortunately, UGA has become a laughing stock, but I’m not laughing. Is it reasonable to believe that they split the next 4 games and finish 6-6?
11/02/2009 at 11:31 AM
AMEN!
I’ve watched UT progress and UGA regress. Remember …GT scored 56 on Vandy. I watched a good Fla qb set a new record against the dawgs. I dont think I could handle Tech setting some kinda most points scored against the dawgs. Somehow, we have to man up, stop the bleeding.
And Spikes should be suspended!
