Billy Payne receives NFF Award
I just read that Billy Payne has been awarded The Distinguished American Award by The National Football Foundation. I am not suprised. You see distinguished is the perfect description of William Porter Payne. From his All American performances on the field at Sanford Stadium, to his now famous involvement bringing an Olympic Dream to fruition, to his present position as Chairman of Augusta National. As far as I know, he has the Midas touch, along with I’m sure an immense intellect and bulldoggedness(if that’s not a word, it should be) that gets things done.
Distinguished
I have spoken to Billy only a couple of times in my life. He was very gracious to me and I appreciate it. What I really appreciate is that when the world thinks Billy Payne, they might think Distinguished American, they might think DGD…but to me he might be the BDD…ever.
